CALL FOR LETTER SUBMISSIONS – DEADLINE FEB 17 2021

The governing body for physicians in BC (College of Physicians and Surgeons CPSBC) has recently put out a set of draft standards for “Parenteral use of Ketamine for the Treatment of Mood Disorders.”  This document will eventually become the mandatory guidelines for Ketamine IV and IM therapies for depression.  They are accepting feedback on this document until Feb 17, 2021.  Currently their position is that this treatment must be conducted in a “non-hospital accredited facility” which is a facility that has high level monitoring capabilities, just like a hospital.

There are large collective efforts underway to ensure that the CPSBC receives as much feedback as possible from physicians, psychiatrists, other health professionals, patients and advocates of the therapy.  Please consider writing a personalized letter to the CPSBC.

Here is a link to the standard if you would like to review as well as a link to some background provided by the CPSBC.
